1. Who is responsible
This policy applies to the Lidarmeter iOS app (the "App") and the lidarmeter.com website (the "Site"). Send your questions and requests to support@lidarmeter.com.
2. Data the App processes
Camera and LiDAR
The camera and LiDAR scanner are used only when you start a scan, to measure rooms. Room geometry (walls, doors, windows, and the position and size of furniture) is stored on your device. Rooms you draw by hand are likewise stored only on your device. Camera images are saved only when you ask: when you take a photo or turn on video recording of a walkthrough.
Site photos and walkthrough recordings
Photos you take during a scan are stored only on your device, together with their position on the plan, tags and notes. If you turn on walkthrough recording, the recording is also stored only on your device. You choose the format in Settings › Recording: video with sound, silent video or audio only. Recordings with sound include the ambient sound picked up by the microphone.
Microphone and voice notes
The microphone works only while you dictate a voice note for a photo and while a walkthrough is recorded with sound or as audio only. Voice notes are converted to text on your iPhone using Apple's on-device speech recognition and are never sent to a server. Only the written note stays on your device with the photo.
Company profile
The logo, company name and contact details you enter for your reports are stored only on your device. If you choose to send your company profile to teammates, the file travels over the channel you pick (AirDrop, email, a messaging app, etc.) and is subject to that service's rules.
Photos library
When you choose your logo from Photos, iOS shares only the image you pick with the App; we have no access to the rest of your library. If you save an exported image to your library, iOS asks only for permission to add it.
Plans you add as an underlay
A plan (PDF or image) you pick from Photos or Files to trace over is copied into the App's folder and stored only on your device. When you pick from Photos, iOS shares only the image you choose. You can remove the underlay at any time; when a project is deleted, its underlay file is deleted too.
iPhone Search
While "Show in iPhone Search" is on, your project names, addresses, room names and plan previews are added to your iPhone's own search index. This index stays on your device and is not sent to us. Turning the option off in Settings › General removes the index.
Exported files
PDF, image, CAD and 3D files are created on your device. You decide with whom, and through which app, you share these files and your recordings.
3. Purchases
The Lidarmeter Pro subscription is sold through Apple's App Store. Your payment and billing details are processed by Apple; we never see or store them. Whether your subscription is active is verified on your device with tools provided by Apple.
4. Advertising, analytics and tracking
The App and the Site use no tools for advertising, analytics, cookies or user tracking. We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties.
5. Backups and files
The App's data is part of your device. If you have turned on iCloud or computer backups, this data may be backed up to your account by Apple's backup service. You can manage backups in your iPhone's Settings.
If you turn on iCloud backup in Lidarmeter Pro, your projects are saved as project files in the "Lidarmeter" folder of your own iCloud Drive. These files are in Apple's iCloud Drive service, in your account; we cannot access them. You can turn backup off in the App's Settings and delete the files in the Files app. A copy of your exported files is also saved on your device in Files › On My iPhone › Lidarmeter.
6. Website
The Site uses no cookies and does not track visitors. The server hosting the Site keeps standard access logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser information) for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
7. Deleting your data
You can delete your photos, notes, recordings and company profile in the App at any time. In Lidarmeter Pro you can delete projects one by one; in the free version you can archive them. When you remove the App from your device, all data stored by the App is deleted (except your backups). Only the free version's monthly project counter (month and number; it contains nothing that identifies you) stays in your device's keychain to prevent abuse.
8. Your rights
Your rights under Article 11 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are reserved. Because your data is kept on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the App; for other requests, write to us.
9. Children
The App is designed for professional measuring and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. When there is an important change, we update the date on this page; continuing to use the App means you accept the updated policy.
